How GamersInstinct works and how you can contribute to video game market research
October 19, 2007

GamersInstinct is a website where anyone who plays video games can join, take online surveys, and directly contribute to the development of new games, consoles and technology. We try to keep it simple, but there's a lot more that goes on behind the scenes that you may not know about…

GamersInstinct officially launched to members in August 2007, and over the first two months the community has grown to over 40,000 members. The surveys don't start flowing automatically, however.

GMI, the company that runs GamersInstinct, works with several of the top market research firms in the world (and lots of smaller ones, too). We do not decide which questions go into the online surveys – our clients do. However, market research firms will not run surveys against a membership base of 2,000 people scattered around the world. Basically:

  • We launched GamersInstinct for gamers like you to join.
  • Once we reached an acceptable amount of members, we then marketed our capabilities to market research firms.
  • Those companies are now starting to develop surveys for GamersInstinct members.
  • We take their questions and send out their online surveys to you.
  • You complete the online surveys and we pay you in MarketPoints, which can be exchanged for cash.

So, as GamersInstinct becomes better known as a great place to conduct serious gaming market research (we can't do it without you!), we'll get more clients and be able to send you more surveys.
